A Dtou Un De yah – peace maker/man who makes peace

Charles Silverfox was born in Whitehorse, Yukon. He is of Tlingit northern Tutchone and Irish ancestry. Charles has lived and worked in British Columbia since 1980. He primarily works in pen and ink creating images using hundreds and hundreds of little dots by hand – this art form is known as pointillism. Charles received his introduction to this form of art from his older brother, Mark Preston, (Tenna tsa the) a well known Yukon artist and jeweler. Charles says that his art is a reflection of his traditional values and his high esteem for all living things in the natural world.

Un “Dtou Un De yah” – faiseur de paix / homme qui fait la paix

Charles Silverfox est né à Whitehorse, au Yukon. Il est Tlingit Tutchones du Nord et de descendance irlandaise. Charles vit et travaille en Colombie-Britannique depuis 1980. Il travaille principalement à la plume et à l’encre créant des images en utilisant des centaines et des centaines de petits points à la main – cette forme d’art est connue comme le pointillisme. Charles a reçu son introduction à cette forme d’art de son frère aîné, Mark Preston, (Tenna tsa the) un artiste et bijoutier bien connu au Yukon. Charles dit que son art est le reflet de ses valeurs traditionnelles et sa haute estime pour tous les êtres vivants dans le monde naturel.
