Daniel Pitchegigwaneh

Born April 3, 1974, Daniel was educated in Europe and speaks several languages. Daniel began to paint Woodland style in the year 2000 at the age of 26.

“In honor to my father, who brought the past to the present, I am taking the present and putting it to the future, caring for, and holding it for the next generations. My inspiration is from my experience, my dreams, and my people. I see things for what they are. I paint from the inside. I’m painting the spirit of my people and of it all. I see the bright colors of our being, the strength and hope. Any person, who believes, feels and opens their eyes, sees the powerful images. I believe real color has strong healing powers. It is up to us all to heal, and make the world better for our grandchildren.”

En l’honneur de mon père, mon père apporté le passé jusqu’au présent et je projette le présent vers l’avenir, le conservant et le protégeant pour les générations futures. Je tire mon inspiration de mes expériences, de mes rêves et de mon peuple. Je vois les brillantes couleurs de notre être, sa force et ses espoirs. Je crois que toute personne qui se donne la peine d’ouvrir les yeux et l’âme voit ces puissantes images. Les couleurs ont vraiment une grande puissance curative. Il revient à chacun de nous d’opérer sa guérison. C’est ainsi, je crois, que nous pourrons léguer à nos enfants un monde meilleur.
