Designing a Gallery Wall

I just came across this lovely instructive video on how to design a gallery wall for your home or office or… anywhere! We love these gallery walls as they’re a great way to bring a lot of personality into a room, even if you only have a small amount of space. CAP and Winn Devon both have a large selection of petite prints that are highly affordable and make great pieces to apply some creative framing and wall design techniques to. I also love the look of intermingling art with family photos. You can also start with an over-size print and design the rest of the space around that one focal point.

Another great tip when designing a gallery wall with a lot of different frame sizes, is to use craft paper cut to the size of your framed art, and experiment with different layouts by taping your cut-outs to the wall with painters tape. Painters tape is easy to remove so it wont mark up your wall, and it gives you a chance to see how all your pieces will fit together before you put a single nail in your wall!
